Sensory processing disorder in 3 year old
Does anyone have experience with this? Our (almost) 3 year old son is having trouble at daycare and they have brought this to our attention. I honestly have not thought anything was wrong, but they say they think he could possibly have sensory issues because of his actions that are progressively getting worse. He’s apparently acting out when things do not go his way. He gets angry and has a tantrum and will also try to hit/hurt the other kids. He also doesn’t sit still hardly ever. He likes to be very active and he does have a tendency to go for dangerous activities until we stop him. He doesn’t really think of safety or consequences. He doesn’t like very loud noises or mechanical noise like a battery powered car. Which is strange because he LOVES cars. I honestly thought this was normal behavior. He’s our only child and he’s not around other small children unless he’s at daycare so we do not see him interact in these situations they are describing. He is on track with all of his milestones. He even knows his numbers up to 10 and some of his ABCs. So he’s not behind development wise. The things I’ve seen at home are not enough to make me think to call his doctor but now I’m starting to worry? Anyone have a child that experiences these symptoms? Could it just be normal for his age?
