No it’s pointless in my opinion it’s either break up or let’s fix the issues like adults.

my bf and i took a two week break (his choice) a little over a year and a half ago. we were running our relationship into the ground. we both knew that things were going terribly and that we needed to fix them but they just weren’t getting any better. we took the two weeks and focused on ourselves and took the time to really think about our relationship and what we wanted for our futures. he called me up after two weeks and asked to get lunch. we sat and talked for like 3 hours about literally everything. we got back together and things have been AMAZING since. i can’t even imagine how they used to be. for us, the break really helped. i used to be one of those people who though breaks were ridiculous and pointless but we would be broken up for good if we hadn’t taken the break. instead, our relationship is better than ever and we have our first baby on the way. Theres no harm in trying 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it just depends on your situation and your relationship. Me and my partner have been together since we were 16 & 17. After a year we mutually agreed a break as our relationship was strained and had a lot of outside influence being young. Best thing we could’ve done. All these ‘it’s just an excuse to cheat or leave the relationship’ just means they aren’t mature enough to self reflect and delve into emotions. We were only apart for a week and now we’ve been together nearly 7 years, have our house and baby on the way
