i need an advice

my 9 y old cat, is suddenly afraid to go in a room in the house. Everytime I go there with him he starts making his eyes wide open putting the claws really hard on my shoulder as i keep him and then makes “mrrr” sounds as being angry. They if i let him go he rana away fast, but sometimes he comes inside with me and he’s calm. Does anyone know why he’s doing this what bothers him there ? That room is for storage only
