1st Solid Food?

Hello Beautiful Mommies ❤️❤️❤️ What was your 1st solid food you have introduced to your baby??? I still have a 2 months times.. I’ve started brainstorming for some idea... #stressful

Dont stress about it— pick a fruit/veggie and go for it. I started with baby cereal and breastmilk for a day or so to get him used to texture

I mashed a banana. He definitely did not like it. I bought the Maxkare baby food maker from Amazon and he has had apples(eventually started adding cinnamon), pears, peas with breast milk and oregano, carrots with breast milk, sweet potatoes with breast milk and cinnamon, green beans and breast milk, zucchini and potato, blueberries and banana, blueberries and strawberries(turns out he’s allergic to strawberries lol), roasted sweet potatoes and roast beets with breast milk and cinnamon.
Next is mango and banana.
If you make your own baby food then make sure if you do fruits that turn brown like apples or pears to add a drop or two of lemon juice.

We did carrots. After about a week we moved to green beans, after a week we moved to peas, after a week we moved to sweet potatoes, but those gave her a rash around her mouth so we stopped those. Kept on with veggies for a few months before we introduced fruits. One at a time for about a week to watch for reactions. Ended up mixing fruits with her baby oat cereal (never rice) to keep her poop consistent (straight apples gave the runs, straight bananas constipated. Mixing with her cereal eliminated the poop issues.) And then once we knew what she was okay with we did the mixed foods. Like green beans, bananas, and blueberries. That mix was her favorite. We did a mix of puree and regular food. By the time she was 1 she was basically eating what we were eating.

sweet potatoes! i honestly think i might’ve added a little bit of cinnamon to it on the third day. i think apples or pears were after that. when your baby starts eating more solid foods, i highly recommend dr praegers little bites. they have a bunch of different ones and are the right texture for a growing learning baby (probably 9-10+ months? i didn’t find them until my son was over 1 so he was kinda past “mushy” foods at that point.)
