Are HCG checks/beta checks common for everyone?

I see a lot of women on here talking about having their levels or their betas checked. I called my doctor this morning to inform them of my pregnancy and I was simply scheduled for an ultrasound in two weeks.
Are betachecks not common for everyone? Does everyone’s doctor not do them? Is it for people for fertility issues only?

I was working with an RE so I automatically had one scheduled 15dpt, 14dpo

With my son i never had them checked. I only got them checked this time around because I was concerned about possibly having a ectopic

For my first pregnancy I never had betas done. My second ended in a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks so this time around (my 3rd pregnancy) I’m getting them done every 72 hours for about a week to make sure things are progressing.

Nope. Depends on dr. I had 3 miscarriages but chose not to have them done constantly cause I didn’t see the need.
