3 year old sleep issues
My daughter has been a bad sleeper since she was born. At a year old she was still waking every 1-2 hours, she didn’t sleep through the night until 1.5 year old and she didn’t sleep well until almost 2 years old. We had about a year of sleeping great and then about a month before turning 3 she started going through a terrible sleep regression. Her dr said it’s normal unfortunately and the 3 year sleep regression usually lasts 4-6 months. Well it’s now been almost six months and it had been getting better the past 3 weeks or so and now this week her sleep is totally messed up again. I am at a loss and feel like I’m going to pull out my hair from stressing about this because I don’t know what to do. I feel like my 3 month old sleeps better than she does because he at least feeds then goes back to sleep. She is just awake for hours. Either she’s taking 3.5 hours to get down for bed then still waking through the night or she goes down easy and wakes up wide awake 3 hours later and stays up for five hours. Or she comes to our bed and is up and down all night. I have no idea what to do. I’ve adjusted and adjusted her naps. Cut them out and she’s a mess all day and still doesn’t always sleep at night. Put them in and she’s fighting bedtime for hours and still doesn’t always sleep at night. Napping for only half an hour a day seemed to get us on track for a while and yet here we are again. She gets tons of time outside, we monitor and limit screen time. She eats healthy. I do not know what to do as it just doesn’t seem like it’s passing. Help me with suggestions or reassurance this will pass soon 😩
