Progesterone: PIO or Suppository ?

Hi ladies! Curious if anyone knows the difference of getting prescribed progesterone suppository (endometrin) over the pio shots? I’ve heard the shots are painful, so I’m happy to not do them but was kinda expecting that versus the suppository. Anyone know why one would be ordered versus the other?

The whole pio is better than suppositories was based on a Dutch study that used low dose suppositories. Nowadays it has been proven on many clinical trials they are equivalent (when the suppositories are the right dose). So don't worry, go with whatever they prescribe you, they are equivalent.

My clinic does them in conjunction with each other. Suppositories every day, twice daily. And PIO every other day. I had better success with that protocol than with just PIO every day.

They don’t do PIO here. So I am on vaginal gel and suppositories both. Both suck. Leaking out and discomfort but have to do !  Anything for the little embabies to stick 👏

Echoing the better absorption. However, my clinic will do suppositories in place of PIO. Some people have allergies to the sesame and need another form of oil or just suppositories. I'm reverse and have an allergy to the suppositories so I can't have them. 
I'll be honest, they suck but they really aren't so bad after the first few. You get used to having to do it.

My doctor said pio has better success rates.  But this time I’m on both!  (Added in suppositories after transfer)

The intramuscular ones are more effective. You're going through so much, hence why they do the oil go keep chances of everything going smoothly the highest
