Drug test as a requirement?

For some jobs people are required to have a drug test before getting hired. 
Do you think it's fair that people are not required to take a drug test before getting federal/state assistance?
This is already something being discussed and has become a requirement in some states. Do you agree, disagree why or why not?

Disagree. For various reasons. The main one being it is a waste of money. It has proven to be a waste in every state in which it has been tried.

Yeah, just fuck those kids who have shitty lives already because their parents have to battle an addiction and just take away their only source of food outside school. They can just get jobs and buy food for themselves or die because we want to drug test their parents and take away their eligibility for assistance.

This is what you are implying when you say we should drug test welfare recipients. Because the vast majority of people who have an addiction, aren't selling their food stamps for drugs, they are feeding their kids with it.

If I have to be drug tested to earn the money that pays for those benefits, then they should have to be drug tested to receive them.

Sure, let's drug test anyone who receives a financial benefit from the government.... Education grants, anyone who claims the mortgage interest deduction, anyone who goes on disability, paid family leave, etc.

No. They tried that already in some states & it proved to be a waste of money. Most people on assistance are not on drugs, AND most have jobs themselves so they may have already done drug tests for their jobs....
For the umpteenth time, folks work and put into government assistance via their OWN taxes so it's not just "your" tax dollars being used for their assistance. If you work, congratulations, if/ when you ever fall off your high horses and into hard times and need the assistance you'll have put in to receive it 👍

It costs too much. Just provide the stamps. It equals out. Plus it means that kids whos parents use drugs still get to eat. Some people fly under CPS radar and have kids barely eating.

I Ment to say no...I would like them to be drug tested....I also think they should be drug tested every 6months and I think they should do it with hair not urine...there's so many ways to pass a urine test even when you're dirty

Yes there should be testing... A person can go fail a drug test to get a job but get free assistance without testing? Where is a motive to get clean...?
