Eugene?

Two names we are thinking of for our son are family names. They sound good together, but Eugene would sound better in the middle.

That being said, I’m more interested in having our sons “go by name” be Eugene rather than the other family name, but I’m concerned about when he gets to be a teenager, while it would be sweet as a young child or an adult’s name, I’ve yet to meet a teenage boy Eugene.

Does it sound silly? Is that an easily picked on name? Thoughts? Just looking for opinions, good and bad!
