Essential oil diffuser around baby?

Hi! I have a 5 week old. We love to use essential oil diffusers in our home and wanted to see if anyone has any information/tips about using an oil diffuser around baby? I have read articles directly talking applying oils to baby’s skin (saying it isn’t safe for babies under 3 months) but I have had a hard time finding info regarding diffusers. Thanks!

You must dilute A LOT. In the diffuser and topically. Many have an intermittent setting that works well. I would only keep it in an open floor plan and not enclosed in a room with babe. Cut the amount you use by 2/3 or more.

As others said, they need to be diluted a ton. I’d avoid peppermint and eucalyptus oils altogether until your baby is older, but from what I’ve been told lavender is generally safe if diluted in a diffuser.

Only diffuse for a few minutes around a baby. Everything we inhale needs to be processed by the liver and theirs is so immature and under functioning at that age so it can build up in their body (and ours! I get a headache).
