Dying toddlers hair (just tips or a streak)?

My daughter is 3 and she's been asking to put pink in her hair. I've always shrugged it off and said "when your older". We were booking a haircut for her and I saw they offer safe semi permanent hair color in streaks or on tips for kids. I thought that was odd and mentioned it to my husband and he thinks we should let her put pink in her hair since she's been asking for awhile. I feel torn. On one hand, I guess it wouldn't do much harm. But I also just feel like she's so young to have that done. What do you think?

I put pink on the ends of my daughters hair when she was little.
It faded out 🤷🏻‍♀️ She absolutely loved it.
It’s just hair, you can always cut it and it will always grow back! :)

If you don't want to use something at a salon, you can buy hair chalk. It washes out.

I would recommend hair chalk. It’s non permanent and doesn’t damage the hair. They usually come in packs with multiple colors so she could try out different colors without a hassle. You just wash it out. It’s really popular in the sons elementary school lol

I would try using Kool aid. I used to dye my hair with it when I was younger.

It’s a no from me. I’m a believer that kids should be kids for as long as possible. They grow up too fast these days and hair dye isn’t something a toddler needs in order to express themselves. If you don’t care, good for you. I don’t need you telling me my preference for my kid’s do not align with yours.

Hair chalk or colored wax. Or the spray I'm color for costumes. There's also a product called unicorn snot that is hair glitter in different colors.

Is she blonde? I would not bleach a child’s hair and if she is too dark it wouldn’t show up.  And just know if it is semi permanent, it still may stain her hair.  I am a hairstylist and I have been kool aid and other home semi permanent colors not wash out.  Just cut a little girls hair last week who used a semi permanent color in her hair last February and it was still there.

Honestly, it’s only hair. It’s not permanent! Kids need to express themselves and it’s super common for them to want to add streaks of pretty color in. I would absolutely let her have some pink in her hair.
