Should I use a baby walker?

Hi I just wanted to ask the community on their thoughts on whether I should introduce a baby walker to my son. 
Previously a nurse from a children’s hospital advised against it because it might affect our son’s development growing up. 
Excited to hear what the community have to share!

No to walkers. A pediatric PT will tell you they do not help with walking and can actually hurt the hips. Not worth it.

The kind they sit in - absolutely not. They are dangerous and don’t help them learn to walk naturally. 
The kind they push and walk behind - yes. Those are safe and developmentally appropriate and they learn gradually to walk and balance.

I was told it’s not recommended because it actually interferes with learning to walk - when learned with a walker it’s an extra step to learn to walk independently.

I did with my first,  definitely won't with my second. It fu***d with his walking for the longest time he'd walk on his tiptoes,  and he would fall over,  it also kept him from learning to pull himself up and learn how to walk on his own. Off course I didn't see any of this till after

I use them without an issue. Supervised, limited time is fine. Unsupervised, excessive time in walkers is where issues arise and injuries can happen. 
People love to blame the products when a lot of it is lack of supervision and education.

I used one with my children. They were fine. They rather enjoyed their newfound freedom and I think it actually encouraged them to get walking on their own faster. 
The warnings issued can be valid but really...only if you are plopping your kid in there and leaving them there for hours and hours on end (which some people unfortunatley do). If its 15 min here or 15 min there, it's perfectly fine if you want to use it.

If you want to then yeah 🤷🏻‍♀️ I will always use them with my kids- no issues 🤷🏻‍♀️

I used it with my girls. Don’t use it as an all day thing but once in a while especially when you need to entertain the baby while getting something done is great.
