Do you think your government is doing enough about climate change?

Also where are you from and if your government are doing anything what are they doing?  Do you think it’s enough?
Is anyone else terrified of the impact of climate change and feel like nothing is being done about it by anyone?
do you think enough is being done to reinforce how serious it is?
 As of now according to scientists we have around 10 years until climate change is irreversible! I can’t be the only one so afraid of this?

No and it terrifies me, I feel like governments just aren’t doing anything meaningful. We need big lasting changes not for people just to stop using plastic straw. It’s big business that have the largest impact. Governments need to stop investing money in fossil fuels. They need to move to greener forms for energy and countries like China have to start taking the climate crisis seriously. Time is running out.

There are great initiatives at the national level, but even better at the local level, especially now that the Green Party won our municipal elections. I do think more can be done, there’s always room for improvement in educating citizens, holding high-polluting industries accountable, supporting eco-friendly businesses but I think we’re on the right track. Let’s just hope it’s done with a bit more urgency than currently

That is not even a government thing.
People have to do it themselves.
But at least in my area in northern Europe, they are doing a lot, compared to southern Europe for example.

Federally I believe our current liberal government has been accused of not really having a climate action policy. I also haven’t followed it recently so not sure if it’s changed. On a state / Local level we seem to be on the right track we have wind turbines and solar farms popping up everywhere. I think I read an article last month that SA has achieved some sort of world leading 60%  share of wind and solar in our local grid. This means wind and solar met 60% of SA’s electricity demand which is pretty good and hopefully gets better. If you look around, at least in our state, almost every house has solar panels these days. There is also a fully renewable tomato farm that uses only solar and sea water to grow 20,000 tonnes of tomatoes a year. 
On an individual level my partner and I are planning to be fully self contained with solar and rainwater tanks it’s going to take some time and money unfortunately but we will get there. We also enjoy camping and 4x4 which people can be critical about due to erosion and I guess that’s our thing we aren’t willing to give up. We can go to remote locations and one of the rules a lot of tourers live by is take your own rubbish with you plus at least a bag of other rubbish you find lying around. And we do that, everyone has a part. There has also been controversy about nuclear energy here and I’ve done a little research and I’m still on the fence about that one!

I’m on the fence. We have signs on the highways and roads saying to carpool, I get alerts on my phone all the time about air quality alerts etc. but people don’t listen so I feel like that’s more on the people not the government at that point.
The one thing that I believe every state should do though is require emissions annually.

It feels like they are but im not sure how much is true and how much is for the PR.

USA- no; and to add to it, I think a bigger issue is at the local resource management level of different states/cities/towns/etc. Federal Govt could put all the policies in place but they won’t do a thing if they aren’t the right policies (IMO this means they’re created with scientists help and fully backed by independent scientific research/evidence) and not enough people follow them.
