Do you believe in splitting rent or bills 50/50 with your partner?

Option 3: he pays the big bills and you pay the smaller bills

Okay so this topic has been on Twitter too many times & there are always so many back and forth answers.

I personally feel that a relationship is a partnership. If we’re living together why wouldn’t I want to help with the bills? A lot of women in this thread were saying “if I’m splitting rent with a guy, we roommates” , “why would I split 50/50 with a man if I can just live in my own personal space and pay 100% on my own” “men bring nothing to the table” “men just want consistent sex and cooked meals. The least they can do is pay the bills” . And I get it but then again I don’t lol. If my bf is already living on his own (which he is) and asked me to move in with him and expected me to instantly split the rent, then I’d probably look at him sideways. But if we chose to get an apartment together I just don’t see why a person wouldn’t expect to split the bills in ANY way.
