I’m being induced tomorrow! What was it like for you?

We are starting with the prostaglandin suppositories as far as I know.. I’ve had no signs of real labor just lots of Braxton Hicks, and I’m worried that it’s gonna take FOREVER! I’m dr made a comment that I might not deliver to Saturday, that’s 3 days in the hospital!? Wtf?! Is that normal for being induced? Like I got a dog and a cat that need us back home lol and that sounds very expensive! How long was your induction? Tell me your stories!

Over 24 hours when I was induced. Then you have to stay in the hospital for 24-4i hours. 
If you do it without labor having started at all it takes even longer and is more likely to end in a c section.

17 hours for me. I was in very early labor when I went in. We still started with the vaginal suppository then things progressed from there I didn’t end up needing pitocin at all. Good luck I’ll most likely be getting induced this time around too

I was induced due to preeclampsia and it took 4 days... after two of the tablets, mechanical dilation via the two fluid filled balloons and the tampon type medicine being clamped on the cervix, not to mention pitocin via IV the entire time. Once I got to a 6, they broke my water, and the countdown was on to avoid a c-section. But baby boy came right along the next morning! Induction, I was told, could take anywhere from hours to 4 days, and mine was the latter. 🙈

With my first I went in on Sunday 11:30pm, delivered Monday 2:45pm, went home weds @ noon.

With my first I was induced evening of a Tuesday and delivered 6 am on a Thursday. I don’t go home until Saturday.

I got to the hospital 4:30pm and delivered 3:53pm the next day. My induction went super smooth. Misoprostol inserted, then Cook balloon, then Pitocin and epidural. Slept a lot of the time then when it was time to push I feel a lot of pressure. Pushed for 30 minutes and he was out.

I ended up in a csectio. After 1 w hrs when my dr discovered that babies head was wall to wall in my pelvis and had no ability to move. When he opened me up he found the cord wrapped around his shoulder and he had to use forceps(they don't usually use forceps during csections. They had to run and go grab some) to pry my sons head out of my pelvis. His poor little face had a bruise for a few days.

They told me that when I was induced with my son, they induced me in the morning said it would be two days before it starts I started contractions that night and was in labour for 25 ish hours.

They told me the same thing when I was induced with my daughter and to plan for 48 hours before her delivery, I was a fingertip dilated but my body responded extremely well and I had her 5 hours later. I did end up staying in the hospital for 36 hours after birth due to a postpartum hemorrhage but that had nothing to do with baby!
