postpartum depression ?

i had my daughter 2 weeks ago.. my boyfriend works night shift and every night when he’s gone, i just cry, idk why im crying but i feel like i need to cry.. could this be postpartum depression??

It could be - but it also could be the baby blues, which is perfectly normal. I cried pretty much every evening for the first two weeks - the anxiety and stress levels were so high, the hormones were probably all over the place after the labor, and the baby started having colic symptoms and problems sleeping at night.. This week I have  gotten more sleep (me and hubs started sleep shifts) and I've been feeling much more relaxed and calm with the baby.
It helps talking about it, though, so if you want to chat about things you're going through, I'm here. It's definitely worth mentioning to your GP if you think you might be having ppd (I did as well, and we're currently monitoring how my feelings develop and take action if needed).
If you are having any major thoughts like regrets on having the baby, thought about hurting the baby etc. please contact your GP asap.

I went through the first two weeks crying every early afternoon / evening too and had this overwhelming feeling of not wanting to be alone with the baby without my hubby too. I was told it’s post partum anxiety and was offered medication but I choSe to wait it out and have better days now but still have anxiety etc. go see your dr xx

Definitely postpartum depression I had my son 4 weeks ago and like the first few weeks I would cry 😢 at any and everything but it definitely gets better I feel like I’m pretty much over it now

Currently going through this now, I’m sure I have postpartum anxiety. I don’t want to be put on medication and just take a few breathers when I feel really overwhelmed. Even with my hubby beside me, I still feel that anxiety but he does a good job of calming me down or always tries to make me laugh to feel better. 
Trust me Mama, you got this. I know it’s hard but we are all learning! Remember to take a deep breath, look at your beautiful baby you created and how much it’s all worth it! ❤️

I talked to my therapist about this and she said crying spells in the first 3 weeks are not only normal but actually experienced by most postpartum moms. It’s just a hormone shift. As long as the crying is just a reaction to normal thoughts it’s not postpartum depression. If you start to feel lonely, depressed, desperate, frustrated then that’s postpartum depression.
Personally I’m 5 days postpartum and I’m crying at commercials on tv, random comments my husband makes, tears of joy just looking at baby’s face. It’s totally normal.
