They did nothing

I’m 21 living with my parents. I had to call the cops on my dad tonight because my parents are alcoholics, and my dad was getting VERY violent against everyone in the house again. This all started because my brother (23) wouldn’t give my dad a hit off his puff bar, and it all stemmed from there. My dad has a horrible problem with substance abuse. I was sitting in my room when suddenly my dad slammed my door open, broke my shoe rack hanging on my door, screaming that I was a lazy piece of shit who sleeps all day (I suffer from insomnia). He locked my brother out of the house and told him he was a worthless piece of shit who should leave and never come back, and my mom let him back in. My dad then tried to physically attack my brother (for a second time), but my mom (who was also drunk) got in the middle, and my dad started attacking her. At that point I said “fuck this” and called the cops because I’m tired of this happening. I was always told by my mom to never call the police. So I was crying on the phone to 911, telling them all this information, telling her my dad was threatening my mom, told them to make the call anonymous, and waited. Cops showed up, my mom goes outside, my dad hides in the bedroom, its quiet for the next 10 minuets, and then they leave. What happens next? My dad gets even more pissed off, and starts screaming/hitting more before he finally died down and went around the house apologizing to everyone (I told him to leave me alone and he got pissed off at me). They think the neighbors called the cops. This same incident happened 2 weeks ago at 11pm, and it was so bad I had to call out of work (I was supposed to wake up at 5am). My dad had been drinking on Oxy and that’s what stemmed that violent incident.

I was told by people the next time it happened call the cops, but they didn’t do anything; they were fucking useless. I feel completely helpless and I have nowhere to go; I’m stuck here until I can either find a roommate for an apartment, or buy a trailer and stick it on a lot.
