Getting young kids to listen better

I have 3 kids 5,3 and 2. They all go through spirts were they all 3 don't listen to anything at the same time. I get so stressed out by the middle of the day. I start out by telling them you know your not suppose to do that to didn't I tell you no to yelling to sitting them down to yelling even more and more yelling. I don't have anyone around to be like can you watch them while I have me time. I've tried having them sit, they don't listen. I guess I'm just looking for opinions, tips, advice.

Recently left my kids dad but even when we were together the kids would still do it and barley listen to him also so its not anything new.

I've even went as far as taking all toys out of there room and taping there toy boxes shut(did that once and it lasted for about 3 days). I even take there favorite toys away for awhile but they find others to play with. Now I don't let them watch cartoons before bed or all day. (Usually ill let them watch an episode or 2 or a movie before bed. Doesn't effect them going to bed)

EDIT: I do understand everyone's parenting is different. Some do it one way and others dont.
