Son screams when he is tired??

When my 6 mo old baby is tired, he screams like bloody murder and refuses to sleep and I know he’s tired because he’ll be yawning and rubbing his eyes and he is just fighting it so hard. I feel so bad to let him cry it out but there is nothing else I can do is there? Is this normal?

You're waiting too long to put him down. My 6 month old usually starts getting whiny around 1.5- 2 hours after he wakes up from a nap and thats my cue to put him down again. If they're screaming its too late and you're both gonna struggle.

Sounds like you’re missing the cues that he’s tired earlier and he can’t handle it so he goes into a tizzy. Make sure to watch him more closely and when you see signs of being tired or over stimulated get him down for a nap ASAP. Should help.

I'm pregnant with my first now so I haven't had to deal with this personally yet but, I did babysit a lot when I was younger and had a little girl who was the same way. Every night when I was there it was so much a struggle that if want to go outside just so the neighbors knew I wasn't hurting her.
Then, I discovered lavender baby wash and lotion. This kid got a bath everytime I was there, and would fall asleep as I put lotion on her. Then it would just be a matter of getting a diaper on her and getting her in the crib. Serious life changer.
I learned at some point that when her grandma watched her she would take her out of the crib whenever she fussed about anything which I'm guessing was a big contributing factor in her struggles at need time.

It sounds like he’s getting overtired. Put him down at the very first signs of being tired. Those can be different for every baby. For my daughter, as soon as I saw her rubbing her eyes, I know it is bedtime (she still the same way now 7 years later)￼.

When my daughter “fights” sleep I will gently hold put my hand over her arms to keep her from flailing around, rubbing her face, and waking herself up. You might try that

It sounds like he’s overly tired, maybe try putting him down before he’s rubbing his eyes and yawning. My daughter gets the same way if I wait too long to lay her down
