What to do if past due?
**UPDATE** My beautiful baby boy was born at 39 +2. I labored mostly at home and raced to the birth center where my son was born very soon after arrival. It was a gentle birth and this babe is so dearly loved!

I live in the US in Northern Utah and I am 39 weeks and 1 day with baby 2. Mainly due to the pandemic I switched to midwifery care about 15 weeks into this pregnancy and yesterday I found out the disturbing news that my midwife will not intervene or try to naturally induce until I’m 43 weeks! I was induced with baby 1 due to asymmetric IUGR (nutrients rushed to head and body was lacking) which caused a slew of problems by the time she was born at 39 and 1 (heavily calcified placenta, completely non-pulsing umbilical cord, inability to cry all fluid out of her lungs and was thus on oxygen and away from us for the first 24 hours of her life beyond the womb). I don’t feel comfortable waiting much beyond my due date before inducing labor and I am terrified at the many things that can go wrong with past-due babes. Has anyone been in this predicament? I don’t know what to do if my babe won’t come on his own by next Thursday! 😭😭 I never realized how traumatized I am by my daughter’s birth and I don’t want to increase the risk of stillbirth, the above listed issues (since that and amniotic fluid levels decrease as pregnancy progresses), c-section due to failure to progress. The list goes on. HELP!!
