Birth center

Has anyone given birth in a birth center with midwives? This is my first pregnancy and to be completely honest I would love a home water birth but my partner is not comfortable with that. So I started to plan a hospital birth and I wrote out a birth plan. There are SO many things that I need to feel comfortable on my birth plan but I’m scared that I won’t be listened to and when I’m in pain I won’t be able to advocate for myself. I truly just hate hospitals and most doctors. I think a lot of doctors don’t care about mothers, they just want the baby out fast and they will do whatever they want to get them out fast rather than letting a mothers body do what it was meant to do. I started looking at birth centers near me and honestly we probably can’t afford one. But I truly feel like it would give me and baby the best most empowering experience. I would be able to have a water birth like I want. I would be surrounded with midwives who trust that my body knows what to do. The birth center accepts insurance. I don’t know if it will accept MY insurance though. Is it worth it to at least make an appointment and let them run my insurance to see if it will cover any of it? I want my birth to be special and empowering. I don’t want to feel pushed over and traumatized. Please give me advice if you have used a birth center.

ALSO before anyone says anything, I of course want my baby here with me healthy and safe. If anything went wrong they would transfer me to a hospital a few minutes away. If there is an indication of any health issues I will of course use a hospital instead. But right now baby and I are healthy and don’t have any reason to believe I should be worried about anything.
