Sleep on stomach or back?

My brother is 11 years old.. when he was a baby, my mom got him this little thing that keeps him propped up on his side because they recently said that putting babies on their backs reduces the risk of SIDS. However, she was worried about him spitting up and choking on it while he was sleeping.. so she found the little “side-prop” tool. Which do you think is safer? Back or stomach? Or side? My baby is due next month and all I keep thinking about is her choking on her own vomit in her sleep.

Back is the best and safest way for baby to sleep. If they roll themselves to their side or belly then it's ok(once they can turn their head to breathe), but ALWAYS put them on their back if you are not holding them or sitting right next to them awake to check them regularly. My son is 16 months and I still put him down on his back and he sleeps however he wants.

Don't use and blankets or positioners. Newborns are really squirmy and can't free themselves from anything keeping them in place so they can easily suffocate.

Back is best. We just lost our niece last week due to sids. Do not listen to uninformed opinions. Do the proper research. Save a life. 
And no blankets, stuffies, or crib bumpers either.

Back. They have a reflex that prevents them from choking during sleep. They do not have a reflex that prevents SIDS or suffocation.
