Are you really supposed to take prenatal before getting pregnant? Does it help somehow?

It’s recommended so that your body isn’t deficient in folic acid before you get pregnant since it’s very important in preventing neural tube defects.

But yes, you should take them before ttc.

It doesn’t help fertility or gives you higher pregnancy chances or anything but it prepares your body in case you do get pregnant, you will already be taking the necessary supplement for carrying a baby so your body will be “more prepared “ so to speak

Just take folic acid for at leaat 3 months before

I would highly recommend them while ttc.  I can’t take them in first trimester because they make me so sick so I was happy I think them ahead of time to give my body a boost

I took prenatals and baby aspirin 2 months before getting pregnant to prepare my body. It just builds folic acid which can help prevent open neural tube defects.

It doesn’t help you get pregnant but it does help prep your body. I think it also helps get into the routine.

I didn't take prenatals before getting pregnant but I did take a bunch of regular vitamins and supplements including folic acid which is super important for early development. Even after I got pregnant I kept taking them until I got my prenatal. Once baby is born I'll go back to regular vitamins until I get pregnant again.

Ehhh. I never took my prenatal before during or after. Babies came out fine. Doesn't help with getting pregnant. Just prepares your body since baby takes all your nutrition.
