Tricks for 6month old to hold bottle?

My six month old Son can totally hold his own Ba. He just would rather me do it. Likes to put both his hands down and be a lazy boy and just open his mouth lol could this be a breastfeeding thing? He just would rather not have to? How can I help him choose to want to so he can learn to tilt it???

He's only 6 months old...he's not lazy, likely just difficult for him at that age. Give him time.

Plenty of options out there and in the comments. I totally get needing baby to be a bit more independent, but thought I might chime in with some thing to consider. Babies get much more from being fed than just physical nourishment. They get bonding, skin contact (more or less depending on how you feed the bottle), eye contact, etc. All these things are good for brain development and all kinds of things and are almost as necessary to a thriving baby as the milk itself. Again, I totally get that life exists and doesn’t always work around catering to baby every second. But it might be worth waiting a while before encouraging it too much or at least limiting the times baby is self-feeding once he does get it. Just something to think on!

My daughter didn’t want to hold her bottle, she would rather play with her hair, lol. Once she was on sippy cups with her milk she would hold those no problem.

My first never did hold her own bottles. Switched her to sippy cups a week before she turned 1 and had no problems. Good luck!
