Do know which side you ovulated on?

I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and with my first pregnancy they told me I ovulated from my left side. God knows how they know this but just wondering if anyone else knew? I have cramping pains slightly on my left side this time round also so maybe my eggs are stronger that side.

Both times ultrasound confirmed left side. Because that's where the cyst was. An ovarian cyst in early pregnancy is extremely common on the side you ovulated from. It feeds the pregnancy until the placenta takes over. Both times confirmed on the left ovary. Not that I really have any other option because I lost my right ovary in 2011 (blew a hole in it and was internally bleeding. Almost killed me.) Anyways so yea. I only have my left ovary. Even without ultrasound it would have been 100% guaranteed I ovulated from my left ovary.

They can tell from ultrasound. I ovulated from both sides the month I got pregnant and had fraternal twins.

We knew what side we ovulated on because we did a monitored medicated cycle with a trigger shot lol. We knew my son was a 18.5 mm follicle on my right ovary 😂

They can tell on an ultrasound because you can still see the cyst that’s left over that’s producing progesterone for baby, I’ve heard to called the ‘ring of fire’ in your ovary, it’s cool to see on a scan, you can google images of the corpus luteum (the cyst left over from ovulating) on ultrasound

I ovulated on my right side, that’s where my corpus luteum was. My ultrasound tech pointed it out

They confirmed I ovulated on the left side with my current pregnancy. I also had a previous ectopic on the left side and was thankfully able to avoid surgery or I probably wouldn’t be pregnant with my rainbow baby right now!
