Did you use a baby carrier for your newborn?

My car is tiny and I can’t afford to upgrade right now. 
However, both of my kids are in Graco 4ever car seats, which are intended for newborns up to 10-12 years old. I am thinking of putting my oldest in a high back booster, while the newborn takes over her 4ever car seat. An infant car seat will be too big/bulky to fit.
The thing with this is, I will have to take baby out of the car seat every time I need to transport. I don’t mind using a baby carrier that will suit a newborn, I just don’t see it happen much.
Did you ever put your newborn in a baby carrier? 
Do you have any tips? Recommendations? TIA!

I’d wear a wrap, there are a bunch out there. Just make sure whichever you buy isn’t made with bulky fabric. I was given one and I’m 5’5 and 115-120 lbs before baby and normally once baby weight is lost. And the fabric was thick and the woman who used it before me was taller and wider than I am so it was just too much fabric for me and it being thick made hot days the worst! I did love having my hands free and baby close when I cleaned or cooked though when they were newborns so I will say baby wearing is a great idea. As for the car seats I would put a mirror where you can see baby as you drive. My friend had trouble with head support in hers with her newborn, he was turning blue because he just couldn’t breathe. So definitely keep an eye on that!

Depending on where you live, you might have rules to leave the hospital with newborn. Where I live you must have a car seat carrier to put baby in to leave even if you don’t go home in a car. Otherwise I did transfer my 3 rd baby into proper car seat by the time he was about 3 months old due to his weight. It wasn’t too bad. It’s more annoying in the winter to take them in and out as newborns.

I use a moby wrap for when they’re super tiny and then an ergo carrier. Both my older kids pretty much lived in the ergo their first year 😉 Couldn’t survive without baby wearing!

For newborn carrier I loved my baby k’tan last time. Soft and wrap like, folds up easy, and come ready to wear no need to tie.

My first two kids I used a 0-4 carseat and a baby carrier. They were born in the tropics in summer and I didn't want them to overheat. Honestly it was easy and I loved it. My third is a winter baby so I'm getting a capsule.

My hospital requires an infant carrier to take baby home. I also can’t imagine having to take a newborn out of the car seat to go in stores and what not but everyone is different. Definitely check with your hospital to see if they have a requirement.

How old is your oldest? Kids are not booster ready till 5 years old. Graco 4evers are wide. I doubt you will be able to fit any seat in between. ESP. If you have a small car. You may have to look into getting 3 new seats. The graco slim fit xl is one if the skinniest on the market right now. But it must be the one that has xl. I had an infant seat with my first and ppl would still take her blanket off and touch her lol. This time,  I bought the Britax convertible carseat newborn-120lbs, plan on baht wearing most of the time.  I bought a ring sling called wild bird! I've been practicing and it seems to be really easy!! I'm hoping this time around with all that's going on, ppl won't be as likely to be handsy when he's snuggled up to me haha! I do know it will be a tad annoying cone winter but I also like having to only buy one carseat, one and done. Good luck!
