How many bottles does an infant need?

I have 12 and I feel like I have too many. 
4 -4oz Avent bottles 
8-8oz Dr. Bronner Bottles 
Thoughts?

It’s nice to have a lot of bottles. It allows you to pre prep bottles so you don’t get caught trying to make a bottle while the babe is already screaming. It also allows you to wash them when you have time instead of everytime you use them. Also sterilizing is very annoying so having more bottles means it’s something you can do when you have time. Once we found the right brand (dr browns) we ended up with about 12.

hopefully your baby likes the dr brown bottles. I’d be more concerned of having the variety to find the one baby needs vs the qty

I had a rough time with my daughter switching to bottles from exclusivity breastfeeding.. dr brown bottles we're the only one she would use BUT it took months and multiple different brands to find that out!! So my recommendation, find the one your baby likes them stock up :)

Not all nipple sizes work for babies, so I’d have a couple different bottle shapes. My baby had an upper lip tie we didn’t discover until she was 3 months old. She had a horrible time latching to large nipple bottles like tommee tippee, and did much better with smaller nipples like dr. Browns. Also keep in mind there’s different flows for nipples, and most newborns need a flow of ‘1’. I had no idea nipples came in different flow speeds.

We had 5 bottles with my first at first and bought 10 more within the first two months. More bottles allowed us to always have some on hand for unexpected meals, washing (we always sterilised before use) or mishaps. One can never have enough, but I would only stock up after first trying them. A friend of mine bought a set of bottles and her baby didnt like them and preferred a different brand...
