Anyone else's baby super sleepy?

Like she sleeps 20 hrs a day the rest is main breastfeeding. She 1 week old today. 
I have to use wet wash clothes to get her to stay awake long enough for her feeds. 
When does this become a concern?

Same issue! Makes BF really tough but we can usually force down formula. It’s frustrating when all the other aspects are going well (supply, latch, etc) but the kid can’t stay conscious.

My baby is over 3 weeks old and still the same way. She wakes up to eat and random 20 minutes here and there. My pediatrician said some babies just like sleep more than others and as long as she’s eating and gaining weight it’s okay!

My baby does this to although at 4 weeks & 3 days she is getting better, try stripping baby off and blowing gentle in their face.
If that doesn’t work wipe away wipe across their arm/leg/belly that will definitely wake them up

My daughter was doing this as well, she wouldn’t stay awake at all and wasn’t feeding well. My doctor said it’s because she was born two weeks early and was a “late preterm baby” it got a lot better after her second week :)

My girl is super sleepy too! When I was in the hospital one of the nurses mentioned that I should take the baby’s clothes off, or at least lift up her gown to get some airflow so that she wasn’t overly warm and comfortable while breastfeeding. Supposedly the cold air keeps them awake and it really does work for me! I’ve been doing combo breast/formula ever since I started feeling a little better and the breastfeeding part is usually when I have the most trouble keeping her awake.

My boy is 3 weeks old and I have to change his nappy most of the time to feed. Like he is hungry but just won’t wake up to feed. It’s very frustrating at 2:30am when he makes hungry noises for an hour but won’t feed because he sleeps. But if I change his nappy he wakes up to much and then won’t go back to sleep 😞

My little man is the same.  It concerns me because I wake in the night having a heart attack cause I slept 4 hours without a feed. I have to change my little mans nappy to wake him up to feed him. Hes super drowsy which is the complete opposite from my first who never slept right up until 12months. It worries me...im just waiting for all my pain relievers to leave my system,  because that could be making him drowsy too.
