Talking??
Alright mama’s, anyone else have family/friends that comment on your toddlers ability to talk? My husbands family is driving me CRAZY.
Constant nagging about “using her words” when she points to something or says “ehhh” when referring to anything she wants. Isn’t this normal for their age? I feel like they are expecting full sentences from her.
She just turned 17 months on 4/18, and has a handful of words. Mama, dada, ball, hi, bye, back pack (😅), auntie, papa, and multiple animal sounds, moo, baabaa, a shriek for an elephant and the cutest little chicken noise.
I already have anxiety about her development, and their little jabs just seem to make it worse.
Is she behind? What are your toddlers favorite words? What do you do to encourage talking?
We love books, and songs and puzzles. She has great communication skills, she signs eat, more, please, thank you, all done, and milk. Follows instructions wonderfully and loves to be so silly all the time.
We have her 18 month appointment next month, so obviously we’ll talk to her pediatrician.
Thanks for reading my rant 😅
Picture just cuz she’s cute!
