What’s the best way to clean breast pump?

I’m not sure it’s matters, but I have the medela. How are y’all cleaning the pump? Are there YouTube videos? I see the steam bags for the parts on the pumps. Are those worth buying? I want to know so I can show my husband how to do it too.

Take it apart, soak the pieces in hot soapy water for a few minutes, scrub, rinse thoroughly, air dry. Tubes won't need washed, but if you start to notice moisture in them, they'll need replaced.

For best results, wash the parts immediately after each pumping session (the milk is quite sugary and can gunk up the parts). Like the other poster said, you shouldn't wash the tubing if it's a closed system. I'll probably also sterilize my pump parts in a steam bag or fancy sterilizer once a day after cleaning.

I exclusively pumped with my son. If you use the kindee bag system you pump directly in to the bags.! They work with ever pump aside from elvie or willow. You just get the pump connection part from kindee. I only have to wash the flanges. Cause I was pumping 10 times a days. I used the pacifier/pump wipes to wipe down the flanges then  kept them in the the fridge in baggie between pumps and fully serialized twice a day.

Wash right away if you can or rinse if you can’t wash until you get home. 
I never used the sterilize bags, I think they are unnecessary. I just boiled the parts once a week to sterilize. 
As long as you are washing them with soap and water, you are good.
