How to get rid of pubic hair?

So, since I was about 14, I started shaving my pubic hair. Sometimes it is totally fine, but other times I'll shave and get horrible razor burn, and then when it starts to grow back, it's sooo itchy. But it's not everytime, and I can't figure out the cause of it, or how I can avoid it! Any tips? Please help, it's so frustrating 😭😭😭
