If you haven’t given birth yet...how will you so?

Just curious about those of us giving birth vaginally. 
I am a FTM and I’m getting nervous about my non medicated  water birth at the birth center. 
I almost want to change my mind but it’s too late. 
Encouraging non epidural birth stories are welcome and appreciated ❤️

Hospital. Epidural vs no epidural doesnt really matter to me as long as it doesnt end in an emergency csection

I laboured at home for 46 hours with my first, went to the hospital, was given an injection of gravol and morphine to help me rest. The exhaustion was SO real. Came home, laid down, was just getting comfortable and my water broke an hour later. Back to the hospital, straight into the bath tub, laboured for another two hours - at this point, the pain was quite intense and I had to be reminded of all the breathing and mindfulness techniques I had practiced throughout pregnancy. When I felt the urge to push, I was made to get out of the tub (at my hospital you can’t birth in the tub, only labour 🙄). I got onto all fours on the bed and started to push with each contraction. I think pushing lasted 30ish minutes? I reached down and felt my baby’s head and was able to guide him out all by myself and brought him to my chest. 
I really, really value being able to birth on all fours. My back pain was so intense I can’t imagine having to be laying on my back to deliver. 
Anyways, due in 2 weeks with this baby boy and ready to do it all over again ❤️

Water births really scare me because my cousin's daughter had a really short umbilical cord so they couldn't get her face out of the water.

I’m having a planned csection because my baby is breech so I’ll be getting a spinal block in the hospital. I would have probably opted for a hospital water birth if I was delivering vaginally (they other pools at my local hospital). I like the idea of a home birth but as a ftm I would personally feel safer in a hospital.. maybe for the next one though!

My first baby, was induced (BP) and decided I didn't want meds. Once the contractions started, I got talked into the epidural from being in hours of pain and was only 18 years old. well... It didn't work. I had minor numbing on my left side that went away within minutes. Had 20 hours of labor and almost 2 hrs of pushing. Just wasn't worth the pain of the epidural.
Second baby, again was induced (GD). No pain meds at all and my overall experience was WAY better than trying for an epidural. Faster labor and delivery. 4 hrs of labor and like 15 mins of pushing. Signed the paperwork for the epi just in case but thankfully I pulled thru!
This baby, am hoping for all natural with no induction or meds. So far, all is well!
Inductions (they say) are more painful than natural labor. Overall, you know your pain tolerance 🙂 try it without the epidural and at least experience it but if you need some pain relief, don't feel ashamed. My sister did the epidural with her second baby and she got to watch him come out with a mirror and felt his head lol. She was laughing throughout the delivery 😂

My birth center experience (second baby) was wonderful. I chose the same for this time around. My first was an induction in a hospital with alllll the intervention drugs. I would not willingly choose that option again.

I had a water birth at my birth Centre and it was amazing! I went into labour on my due date and had my daughter the next morning (3.8kg). The birth was long and intense but calm in the water and I felt fantastic afterwards. You can do it!!! Good luck! I’m 39+1 and hoping for another water birth this time around (though baby is measuring 4.5kg!)

My first I was 18 yrs old and my water slowly leaked the light the day, went to the hospital at night and they started me on Pitocin and antibiotics (in case of infection for baby because my water slowly breaking) was in labor for 24 hrs I wasn’t dilated when I arrived at the hospital only effaced a little. I got the epidural when I was 3-4 cm and it was good for me. I was finally able to sleep for 8 hrs before I had her. My second I was 20yrs old and I was in early labor for 3 days with irregular contractions, on the fourth day we went to the hospital because I was tired of the contractions and I was 3cm and 80% effaced. They kept me and I honestly can’t remember if they induced me or not but I did get an epidural again when I was 5cm and had her at 7:17 that night. I will be getting an epidural again because I like being able to rest during the contractions and also not being able to feel myself rip while I’m pushing them out or when they stitch you up after. I haven’t had any problems with epidural, no back pain, no side effects while on it. I know people are different so some react different
