what are good gifts for men?

ik it’s different for every men and blah blah. i’m not super creative when it comes to gift giving, but his bday is coming up soon. this would be the first bday we spend together (we got together right after his last one). 
extra info:
-he loves to workout so i was considering gym clothes but i thought clothing was a but basic.

If he isnt a member of a gym you could get him a membership or a personal trainer for some sessions. 
Good runners are a good bet or a watch if he doesn’t have one from tracking all his stuff 
Does he workout at home could get some equipment like weights, a new mat, skipping rope that kinds things

Honestly? Food. A special meal, his favorite alcoholic (or not) drink, something like that. I made my husband bacon roses one year (bacon curled around a skewer and cooked in the oven)  and got him a milkshake from his favorite place. Steak & poutine is always a hit at our house too. 
I also like to get him beard care products, such as artisan beard oils and waxes. Also shaving products like a nice shaving set or some nice shaving soap. 
Tools are also an easy gift. I ask him what he’s been wanting for his woodworking projects.

For my fiancé’s first birthday I spent with him, I did the 5 Senses gift. You could do the same with like workout gear, protein powder, gym membership, etc. 
It was a super memorable gift for him, & he loves everything I gave him.
