Do you ever judge somebody based on what they do for a living

Recently went on vacation on a girls trip and it seems like everybody starts off by asking what you do? I find that question to be extremely rude and none of your goddamn business unless you're planning on living with me! I started to talk to this one girl who seem kind of cool and we started talking and she asked me that question I told her that I used to have a cleaning business like 6 years ago and she literally walked away from me after I told her what I used to do. It's not like this woman was a CEO of a major corporation she made her own jewelry at home and sold it on online.
