Is it possible for HPV to go away on its own?

I was diagnosed with HPV warts about 5-6 years ago after I had my first breakout of genital warts. I had them removed at the doctors office with a freezing procedure and haven’t had any new warts since then, this was over 5 years ago. I haven’t had a Pap smear ever since because my life was crazy I moved to another country and had a lot going on so I couldn’t find time. I just had a Pap smear done last month and they called me saying everything came back negative and looking normal. Does Pap smear test for HPV? If so, does this mean I no longer have HPV? Thank u
