HSV1 + 2 testing confidentiality ?

I was recently tested today for HSV-1 and HSV-2.
My 21 week appointment is next week, and I will most likely be bringing a visitor with me.
I will have my test results before my appointment next week, but I am afraid that they will discuss it or mention it with my visitor there.
Do they normally disclose that information or have any sort of conversation regarding that stuff with visitors in the room? Or do I have to call and request that we don’t discuss it at that visit?

I would ask your guest to wait outside for that part. I’ve been a guest at friends appts and it’s not weird at all to be kicked out for a hot minute.

At your anatomy scan, they shouldn't discuss anything about that. It's a sonographer and an attending OB (that's not even in the room unless there's a problem) that's not usually your OB. They're there only to discuss anomalies with the baby and with your placenta and cervix and stuff pertaining directly to the baby. You'll talk about these results with your regular OB at your next check up appointment most likely.

If it’s your anatomy scan appointment, you could let your visitor be with you during the ultrasound and then ask them to wait in the lobby for the actual doctor visit part of the appointment.
