How *does* a girl meet other girls, especially in These Unprecedented Times?
Full disclosure, I’m on a dose of liquid courage at the moment or otherwise i l’m not sure I’d be putting this in words: So, the prospect of *dating* is something I’ve thought about in the abstract, but always put on the backburner of “well hey, if I meet the right girl” (or person, but y’know, at this point I’m pretty sure that said person would be another woman). But a part of me feels that meeting that Right Person would happen because I’m actively seeking it out. You know, actually trying for it, with the whole “dating” scene, something I’ve scarcely dipped a toe into even after 25 and a half years. Partly out of lack of interest, and partly out of just having other things to focus on (double majoring will do that to ya). But now I’m feeling like I want to at least, you know, put myself out there? See what other fish are in my local area of the sea?
Except, well, you know the story; I’m getting used to this whole adult life post-college thing, and then: COVID happened. We’re a year out with things in the precariously “looking up” direction, and I’m vaccinated myself, so probably time to start wondering yet again: how do you *do* that, trying to find and form new relationships (heck, of any kind, platonic, romantic, or what have you) when social gatherings in general are still kind of iffy, vaccines and masks or no?
