Daycare Lunches?

My son just started going to daycare on Monday and they have us pack lunches for our children. I’m sending him with a lunchable, applesauce, and Cheerios tomorrow. I feel like such a bad mom since I’m sending him with a lunchable. Please let me know what you pack for your child’s lunches? He doesn’t like sandwiches, so unfortunately I can’t pack those.

Elliott doesn’t like meat! She will eat apple butter sandwiches or grilled cheese and that’s it. Usually a lunch is fruit, dairy, and a cracker (carb) of some kind. If you feel as though a lunchable is best for your child then pack it! Don’t even stress about something so silly. Food is better than no food. When I dropped my son at daycare years ago most kids had pop tarts or donuts for breakfast. Seriously, sometimes we just need to get convenience food for our own sanity. And that’s totally okay 🥰

Our daycare makes lunch so we just send snacks. If I had to send lunch, I think I would send some combination of cashews, cut fruit, dried soybeans (Luca loves these), yogurt cups, applesauce cups, and pretzels plus less healthy snacks like nutter butters, pudding cups, etc.

I send my daughter to school with lunches. We do a lot of convenience frozen foods which I feel half guilty about...but she has a hard time taking bites of things (she is globally delayed) so hot lunch or things like sandwiches are completely not an option for her. Her lunchbox has a thermos section to keep food warm. I’ll do mac & cheese (or leftover pasta), various nuggets (chicken, veggie, broccoli & cheddar), corn dogs, pizza bites, toasted PB & J (cut up for her), grilled cheese (cut up), ham & cheese quesadilla (cut up), potstickers, general leftovers I feel she will eat at school. She likes a lot of the morning star farms options. I’ve found a few things at Target that seem tasty that she has liked (broccoli & cheddar nuggets). I always include something crunchy, a fruit and vegetable as well. She usually eats all of her lunch but it is trial and error now. Apparently leftover Mac & cheese is not a favorite but she likes it freshly made 🤷🏻‍♀️.

My daughter is starting in two weeks and I will send her with her comfort food.... quesadilla, toast, sun butter sandwich, fruit, crackers, yogurt....They are in a new environment and after all we want them to eat. 
So if you know your child likes lunchables then do not feel any sort of way just send it.
Make your little one happy and that’s all that matters.

My daycare lady makes food for the kids and she gives them mac n cheese one day with mixed veggies, another day is hot dogs with fruit, another day is ground hamburger with peas and carrots and she also does chicken patties without the bun (so basically chicken nuggets lol). Jaxson loves pb&j but not other sandwiches. He loves fruit cups, especially mandarin oranges and pineapple. I also give him lunchables sometimes! What about fish sticks? Also banana chips and freeze dried apples make a great snack.
