Personal beliefs vs. Just business

sa

Here’s a debate my business partner and I have been having that I wanted to get other’s opinions on.

We live in an area that is still in full lockdown in Canada. No businesses are allowed to be open other than “essential” business. We run our own business and one of our clients is a restaurant. The owner has become an anti-vaxx, anti-mask, anti-government, conspiracy theorist that has literally gone over the top on social media, posting about 5-10 articles and videos a day.

She hosts a protest at her restaurant every week, has been given multiple tickets, still runs her restaurant and doesn’t require masks inside (they’re still required here in Canada)

She even went so far as to make posts wishing trump was in charge in Canada and made “make canada great again” shirts and is selling them in her restaurant.

We have a list of clients on our Facebook page and website and I’m desperate to drop her as a client as I feel it’s embarrassing and I morally don’t agree with anything she stands for.

My partner believes it’s just business and that we should separate business and our personal beliefs.

So my debate is, if you were/are a business owner and one of your clients did something, posted something on social media that went against your beliefs, would you keep them as a client, or put your own beliefs first and drop them?

Bonus question, how would you go about dropping them as a client politely?
