Am I being a helicopter mom?

So I've been trying to find a cool bed for my 4/o. I saw some cool toddler lofts (that aren't that tall) but the only problem is they're super expensive! Well my husbands parents found a twin bed loft at a garage sale and bought it for us. I was super excited! His step mom said it wasn't that tall and that it would he perfect for him. I got all the pieces put in his room and started putting it together when I realized that it was actually super tall... I'm 5'4 and this thing went way over my head. I couldn't reach over it! I told my husband we absolutely are not letting our tiny 4 year old sleep in it and he's mad at me! He told me I'm being dramatic and a helicopter mom and he's going to let our child sleep in it anyway. Am I crazy for being concerned? He can touch the ceiling if he's on the top.
