Which would you suggest?

Question

Starting in my baby registry, and I’m wondering which type of carrier is the most comfortable and easiest to use. Wrap/sling carrier, or the more backpack-like carriers? Which do you like better, and would you please let me know why?

I had both a wrap and a carrier. I used the wrap when my son was a newborn, it was a lot easier to maneuver when I had something keeping him nice and snug, with his head tucked inside. I transitioned to the carrier when he was older, holding his head fine, and was more interested in seeing the world around him. I’ll definitely be using both again with my next one!

I LOVE my Lilliebaby serenity and if i had to pick between all of my carriers, this is the one I’d choose for longevity and quality. Great lower back support, a decent amount of pockets for my phone keys and card for simple trips. Lots of airflow, and seat positions for earlier back carry (great because our first babe stayed super little, even when she was sitting independently). It fits me and my husband, and it’s also the most comfortable for him to use. This is the carrier type I’d recommend if you can only get one. I didn’t love it when she was tiny tho. 
I have a Boba wrap which i LOVED for a newborn, but as she got heavier i didn’t love it as much. Also, limited positions meant she outgrew it developmentally a little faster i feel. 
The sling wraps look nice and are always my go to when we need to look nice and dressed up but need the extra hand. Nice for quick runs too, but for me it just wasn’t the most comfortable and i always felt like i needed a hand on her for support.

The wrap was really complicated for me, and honestly I just used the infant bucket seat and stroller whenever we went anywhere when they were super tiny, and we didn't go out a whole lot anyway. The harness was easier to use in my opinion and by the time baby wasn't a newborn and we were going out a little more, it made more sense to use, though quite honestly we mostly used the stroller then too. So I would say to be realistic with yourself as far as how much you plan on being out and wanting baby on you while you're out vs just using the stroller.

This has been my favorite carrier hands down.
I love being able to breastfeed in it and it’s so comfortable!!

I finally found this one with baby #2 and will never use another carrier again. It is by far the most comfortable. You can carry 6 different ways and I can even carry my 2.5 year old comfortably in it. It has tones of pockets which makes it so convenient!

I have one and I love it, once you get use to it it’s not complicated at all and super easy to slip your baby in and out and keep your baby close to you and give plenty of hugs and warmth. I got mine off of Amazon
