What is he doing

When my bf & I have sex sometimes he will tell me to get on top. When I do & it goes in he will tell me to just sit still for a bit so he can “feel it” and then we’re good to go. This has happened too in doggy. I will turn around ready in position & he will stick it in & tell me not to move and then after a few seconds we start. Why does he do this? Anyone else?

Before everyone says “just ask him” I have and he says it’s to feel me.....I do not understand
