Contractions at 34.5 weeks - anyone else?

Hi everyone. Second time mom here and wanted to see if anyone has gone through something similar.

Both pregnancies were/have been (thankfully) very smooth. This time around I have gestational diabetes which is more annoying than anything else.

Yesterday after lunch I had some of the worst (what I think were?) gas pains of my life. I took some gas-x and felt better. But then I started having pretty consistent contractions and when I called my OB they said to go to hospital just to be sure. They hooked me up and I was definitely contracting so they gave me an IV and a medication to relax my uterus. They checked that I wasn’t in pre-term labor or dilated and then sent me home.

Feeling good overall - thinking maybe I was dehydrated / run down. Slept great, took day off work and feeling fine.

My question is - has this happened to anyone else? Did you end up delivering early? Just curious! :)
