Acne medication

Question

I was given acne medication in the form of a cream years ago and after a while it just stopped working 
Now I think I want to try another form of medication like pills? Does anyone have recommendations?

Retinol, don’t use antibiotics they can mess up your gut bacteria for up to a year after use. This can lower your immune system.

I was on antibiotics (don’t remember the name) and Ziana gel. The gel dried tf outta my skin 😭 but it worked.
I did eventually get acne back tho and my dermatologist said that I should see a gynecologist for long-term birth control options since I was 21 at the time. I’d been on Estrostrep FE for a couple years until I decided to get off and haven’t had any skin issues since.
