I am doing my own hair and make-up for my wedding and on make-up sites it suggests to go for a dark navy to make my eyes stand out... But is it too harsh?

I do wedding hair and makeup as my career(along side with being an everyday hairstylist) and I always recommend neutral tones for wedding makeup! It tends to create a more cohesive look and highlight your natural beauty. If you have blue eyes, golden tones will make them pop, for green eyes I’ll usually use a mauve as a transition shade to make them pop, and brown eyes can do just about anything, but I always stick with a mostly neutral eye look. First of all, you're such a beautiful bride! Second of all, if that's the navy you're showing in the photo, then I dont believe it's too harsh at all! That's just me personally though. I believe it's quite elegant actually, and just right.
