Hard potty training

My daughter is almost 3 in a month. We have tried to start potty training and she just cries and gets scared of toilet . She just doesn’t like even her small one. She’s known about toilet and potty since 1 but doesn’t want to do. We tried today and she went on toilet by herself then peed on herself and cried and now doesn’t want to go on anymore and wants a diaper on… any recommendations if I should wait another couple weeks Or if she’s ready and force it now
