Why do I keep chasing the relationship????

My dad pretty clearly doesn’t really want anything to do with me anymore. He hasn’t in years. Ever since I got older our relationship has been strained. It got much worse after my grandma (his mom) passed away almost 5 years ago and he started dating and married his new wife. He and I have vastly different opinions on most things, especially politics and such though. He’s probably the most homophobic person I know. I can’t stand that about him. He doesn’t know I’m bisexual either though. He does know that I’m in a polyamorous relationship though and thinks I’m basically he devil for it, even going as far as to tell me that my grandma, who my best friend and meant everything to me, would be so disappointed in me and stuff like that. He doesn’t say hi to me or even acknowledge I’m in the room when I see him at my grandpas when I go to see my siblings there every other weekend. He never texts or calls me and if I text or call him he either doesn’t answer or I get simple 1 word answers and he cuts the conversations short. He has never invited me to see his new home and never invites me to family events anymore. None of that side of the family invites me to anything anymore or even talks to me besides my grandpa and that’s kinda rare too after he remarried. I tried to stay in contact and part of the family after my grandma passed, but was kinda left out and forgotten.

I don’t know why I even keep trying to even talk to my dad or anything. He and I use to be so close though. I always saw him as my best friend when I was young and was definitely a daddies girl. Idk what I did to deserve things being the way they are now besides grow up. I only hurt myself in the end with continuing to try with him at all. But for some reason I just can’t seem to just let it go and move on.
