Is fertility treatment this expensive ?

Question

I had my first consult - 450$
Blood tests for me- 350$
Blood tests for hubby- 150$
Semen analysis- 200$
Now they are saying i’ll have to come for 1-3 ultrasounds when my period starts - $450 per visit
Medication - don’t know the amount. 
Blood work estradiol -$90
Blood work progesterone -$90
They already said i have pcos, so will have pills to pop in
Am i being ripped off???
Whats the amount you have to pay?

That all sounds quite common. We have paid more than $26K for fertility care in the last 3 years.

Judging from my friend’s fertility costs in Texas, you’re actually getting things done at a fairer price. 
But yeah… Fertility treatment is costly. That’s why some opt for just skipping it and going through fostering/adoption. Not everyone can afford the costs. It’s unfortunate that it’s so expensive.

Mine was a little less bc insurance covered it. But honestly I find that to be on the lower side. Also depends on where you live and insurance coverage.

This is what I am paying as well, my insurance doesn't cover anything. Its about $500 everytime I walk into the building.

That’s about on par with what our medicated cycles were! We got 2-3 ultrasounds a cycle for $850 i think, instead of paying each. Otherwise, i think all the rest of our numbers were very similar! We were completely out of pocket with no insurance and spent in the $7500 ballpark i think.

I pay about the same. Maybe a little less at least for the ultrasounds the insurance covers it.
