Child support
Hi FTM here and I am preparing myself for the child support process. Wondering if anyone has been through this: my child’s father has moved to another state, we have zero communication but he knows I’m pregnant and made to choice to leave anyways. I plan to use CSS to have a paternity test and get child support. Anyone have advice on the best way to make sure this is done successfully? Should I just have faith in the process and remain to myself and peacefully raise my baby or should I reach out to him and try to encourage him to come back in time for the birth and just do paternity without involvement of the courts. I’m worried talking to him will do nothing but spook him into changing his number or something to avoid responsibility. I could really use some advice.
EDIT: before more married women try to fear monger me. The point of me filing for child support is NOT to keep my baby from his father... the point is to make his father pay what he’s responsible for in supporting a child he consciously made with me, because it’s the right thing to do. I don’t live in fear and I don’t intend to push out my BD. But I fully plan to hold him accountable.
