When to leave work for good? Help!!

Question

I currently work in a mortgage office and I am 22 weeks. I know that’s too soon but I am trying to plan what is best. My husband and I decide I will stay at home full time with our son when he is born (he’s our first baby 😊). 
When would you guys tell your work you are leaving and when would you actually leave? 
Right now I’m doing ok but I’m getting uncomfortable quite a bit. I really have nothing to complain about because baby is healthy and I could have it way worse but I was just curious when I should leave. My due date is October 19th 🧡

If I was going to stay home with my first (and assuming I was gonna make it to full term—I didn’t) I would have been done at 32-36 weeks. I would have loved to have 4-8 weeks to really prepare the house for baby. Make lots of freezer meals, clean and just decompress. 
Being done at 32 weeks would have been the plan had we decided I was going to stay home after we have our second. But I’ve decided to keep working. It would have been awesome to have those last few months/weeks with my oldest full time.

I personally waited until I was around 20 weeks and I left. We already had our first daughter though and the price of daycare for her alone was killing us. I actually just used hypertension and HG as an excuse for me leaving so early, and I told them I wouldn't be back due to cost of daycare. I would've stuck it out longer but honestly puking 10 times in the 8 hours I was there was not my cup of tea, and they were basically paying me to do half the work I usually would've gotten done.

My husband and I decided It would be best for me to leave my job and stay home with the baby when she comes. I worked for a school district. I let my boss know I was pregnant and would be resigning in April. I wrote my letter in May and put my date down as June 30th so I get my full paycheck. The school year ended June 4th so I've been home since then. It was hard for me to make the decision to leave but it is for the best. I am due October 15th but didn't want to leave them hanging by leaving in the middle of the trimester vs leaving now that the school year has ended. I think you should go as long as you feel comfortable. If you are comfortable with your boss you could always talk to them about it as well.
